THRIVE Developer Convening, December 2016

THRIVE hosted a convening of funders and developers on December 2nd, 2016, sharing with potential partners about the CLT model, and THRIVE’s vision of community-led development meeting local needs.  Developers, financial institutions, and funders expressed support for the CLT, explaining that obtaining land and navigating conversations with residents and the City was one of their main challenges -- and direct participation by local residents was a key solution.  Several participants provided letters of support for THRIVE Santa Ana, addressed to the City of Santa Ana.




Together with several sister organizations and local residents, THRIVE seeks to make sure that the perspective of disinvested communities is centered in the CERF initiative, from the initial planning process, into the definition of strategies and selection of projects.  We invite Santa Ana and Orange County residents to make sure these public resources support economic strategies that are rooted in community participation, ownership, and decision-making.  THRIVE believes a grassroots participative approach is essential for public resources to be invested responsibly, where they are most needed.
